Assi Ghat, one of the ancient & the most famous ghats of the city, is the place where the River Assi merges with the holy Ganges. Shiva devotees take a dip in the waters here before praying to Lord Shiva.

Dashashwamedh Ghat
This colorful & lively ghat takes its name from the mythical legend that Lord Brahma sacrificed (medh) 10 (dash) horses (ashwa) on this ghat to welcome Lord Shiva. Be sure to witness the grandeur of the evening Ganga Aarti (river worship) at Dashashwamedh Ghat. The ethereal blaze of the lamps, the strong incense and the melodious chants; the ritual simply mesmerizes the senses.

Manikarnika Ghat
The final destination for many Hindus, this is the main ghat for cremation. All day long, bodies are cremated on top of pyres on the riverfront steps. The entire ritual is a compelling spectacle.
